Description

A Free OFX Spin Transition That Turns Like a Wheel

The SyF Rotator Pro is a free OFX spin transition for Vegas Pro that treats your two clips as the two faces of one turning wheel. The outgoing clip rotates away around your chosen anchor point while the incoming clip follows right behind it on the same pivot, so the cut reads as one continuous spin instead of two separate clips. Rather than spinning a single clip against an empty background, the next shot is already swinging into place as the last one leaves.

Pick Your Pivot

An Anchor Point dropdown gives you eight pivots, and a Rotation Direction option sets whether the spin turns left or right:

  • Top Left, Top Right, Bottom Left, Bottom Right: spin around a corner for a quarter turn.
  • Top Middle, Bottom Middle, Left Middle, Right Middle: spin around the middle of an edge for a half turn.

Motion Blur That Looks Real

The blur is based on a simulated camera shutter and follows the rotation, so it stretches longer out where the motion is fastest and stays tighter near the pivot, the way a real spinning object blurs. Two independent sliders, Strength (how smooth) and Length (how long the trail), let you dial in a look without fighting one setting to fix another. Want a clean, crisp spin instead? Turn motion blur off.

Control the Feel

Three more controls shape how the spin behaves:

  • Pull Back & Overshoot: a small wind-up before the spin and a settle after it, like a real wheel catching its stop. Turn it off for a single clean ease.
  • Snappiness (0 to 100): at 0 the spin is perfectly linear. At 100 it eases in slowly, snaps fast through the middle, then eases out.
  • Mirror Edges: when on, any area the spinning clips don’t cover is filled with mirrored image. When off, it stays fully transparent so the layer underneath shows through.

Works on Titles and Overlays

The transition keeps the transparency of your clips, so you can use it on text, titles, and PNG overlays without a solid black background showing up behind them.

GPU-Accelerated, With a Real Fallback Chain

The render tries an NVIDIA CUDA device first (RTX 20 series and newer, including the RTX 50 series), falls back to OpenCL for any other GPU, and only drops to the CPU if neither is available. One checkbox turns GPU acceleration off.
