SyF Motion Blur Pro – Free DaVinci Resolve & Vegas Pro Plugins

Get a free OFX motion blur plugin for Vegas Pro and add realistic, motion-aware blur to any clip in one click!

The SyF Motion Blur Pro compares each frame with the one before it and blurs each pixel along its own path of motion, instead of a single flat direction slapped across the whole image. Pick from multiple algorithms built for different kinds of motion, from everyday footage and tricky fast movement to a clean pan, a spin, or a zoom, and let GPU acceleration keep it smooth while you work.

  • One-Click Motion-Aware Blur
  • One-Click Pan, Spin & Zoom Algorithms
  • One-Click Optical Flow for Tricky Fast Motion
  • One-Click GPU-Accelerated Rendering

Description

A Free OFX Motion Blur That Follows the Actual Motion

Most motion blur plugins just smear every pixel the same fixed direction and call it done. The SyF Motion Blur Pro is a free OFX motion blur plugin for Vegas Pro & DaVinci Resolve that compares each frame with the one before it, works out how every part of the picture actually moved, and blurs each pixel along its own real path. A title sliding across the screen, something spinning in place, and a background pulling away behind it all get the direction and length of blur they actually earned, not a one-size-fits-all approximation.

Pick the Right Algorithm for the Motion

Different kinds of movement are easiest to nail with different approaches, so Motion Blur Pro gives you a Blur Algorithm dropdown instead of forcing one method to handle everything:

  • Dense Inverse Search: the default, and the right choice for most footage. It estimates motion at every pixel, so a subject and its background can move independently of each other.
  • Optical Flow: a heavier, slower estimator for tricky shots, like fast movement over repetitive patterns that can fool the default. It can run on your NVIDIA GPU when one is available.
  • Basic Linear Movements: built specifically for something sliding in a straight line. Faster, and clean when that’s all you need.
  • Basic Rotating Movements: built specifically for something spinning in place.
  • Basic Zooming Movements: built specifically for a push in or pull out.

Need more than one at once, like something that’s both spinning and pulling back? Stack multiple copies of the plugin, each set to a different Basic option. They combine cleanly.

Simple Controls, No Guesswork

Two sliders, Blur Strength (how smooth) and Blur Length (how far), are completely independent of each other, so dialing in a look never means fighting one setting to compensate for another. Blur Length doesn’t affect render speed. A Flow Estimation Resolution slider sets the resolution motion detection runs at, and lowering it can help the plugin keep up with very fast motion, especially on lower frame rate projects. Each algorithm also has its own fine-tuning sliders, which only appear when that algorithm is selected.

Works on Titles and Overlays

Motion detection ignores fully transparent areas, so text, titles, and PNG overlays on a transparent background are tracked by what’s actually visible. The blur carries their transparency along with their color, so you don’t get a solid background behind them.

GPU-Accelerated, With a Real Fallback Chain

The blur step tries an NVIDIA CUDA device first, falls back to OpenCL for any other GPU, and only drops to the CPU if neither is available. It stays fast on the widest range of machines, not just one brand of graphics card. One checkbox turns GPU acceleration off.
